How To Research Keyword Most telling
Updated on 05 August 2015
Choosing the right keywords or keywords for blogs is very important. If my friend chose the wrong keywords then do not be surprised if your blog visitors quiet like a cemetery.
If the blog is empty of visitors will end up so lazy blogging. If already lazy blogging most likely going to stop blogging.
But hopefully by reading this post my friend will not stop blogging until really can get many visitors.
Research keyword is a kind of fuck anyway, Mas?
Keyword research or more precisely keyword research is one part of the SEO strategy or search engine optimization.
For a friend who wants to increase blog visitors from search engines then there is no reason not to do keyword research. Buddy can still get the end of the search engine without keyword research, but certainly will not be maximal.
Research keywords in essence is to search for keywords that are often typed by people in search engines in accordance with the topic of your blog.
For example if your blog discuss about football, then roughly what keywords are often used people to search for information about football in search engines.
What is the " English League Schedule " or " English Premier LeagueStandings " or "The best all-time game " or the other.
Up here I'm sure my friend already understand what the purpose of keyword research.
Know the types of keywords
Before my friend read this post further, it is better to first understand some types of keywords because in the world of SEO, the keyword has many types.
Some of these keyword types are:
- Short tail keyword
- Long tail keyword
- Keyword immortal
- Seasonal keywords
In addition to the above four types of keywords there are actually some other types. But the most important thing to know is the four types above.
Here is a more complete explanation:
1. Short tail keyword
Short tail keywords are keywords that generally consist of only one or two words. For example like this:
- Android
- Smarphone
- Android Cheap
- Latest Smartphone
- etc.
These types of keywords usually have a very high level of competition. It is very difficult to be able to compete on keywords like this unless you have the science of God-level SEO.
2. Long tail keywords
Long tail keyword is a long version of a short tail keyword. Examples like this:
- The Coolest Android Smarphone List
- Best Samsung Android Smartphone
- etc.
If my buddy is still a beginner then long tail keywords are definitely more recommended because the level of competition that tends to lower and facilitate my friend to master the top position of search engines.
The shortcomings of long tail keywords are the traffic that is not as much as a short tail keyword. It's also pretty hard to find really good long tail keywords.
3. Keyword immortal
Keyword immortal is a keyword that is always used by people to search for information on search engines and will not be stale swallowed by the times.
Example of the following keywords:
"How to cure a headache"
These keywords include enduring keywords because everyone is bound to experience the name of a headache.
4. Seasonal keywords
Seasonal keyword is the opposite of enduring keywords, ie keywords that are seasonal or just popular for a moment.
Example of the following keywords:
"Real Madrid vs Juventus match results"
Without being explained I'm sure you know the difference between endless keywords and seasonal keywords.
How to Keyword Research
Now the question is, how to do keyword research?
Well below is a complete tutorial on how to do keyword research by utilizing two free tools called Ubersuggest and also Google Adwords: Keyword Planner .
Actually it could just use Google AdWords: Keyword Planner, but the resulting keywords are less varied. Therefore we need help from Ubersuggest.
The function of Ubersuggest here is to find keyword variations of the main keywords that we target. The goal is of course to find long tail keywords.
In addition Ubbersuggest there are several other similar tools that are not less good, such as:
- etc.
But for this tutorial I will only use Ubbersuggest only.
While the task of Google Adwords: Keyword Planner itself is sure to analyze the number of searches and also the level of AdWords advertiser competition (suitable for those who want to make money from Google AdSense ).
How is the process? Please be listened below:
Step One: Search for keyword seeds
The first thing you need to do is search for the keyword seeds related to the topic of your blog.
The seed keyword is a keyword that we will use to find other keywords or often referred to as derived keywords.
Generally the keyword seeds consist of one or two words only, so included in the category short tail keyword.
To find the seed keyword you can use instinct. Think about any keywords that relate to the topic of your blog or website.
For example if your blog discusses Technology, then its keyword seeds can be like:
- Computer
- Software
- Internet
- Gadget
- etc.
Step Two: Search for long tail keywords
If my friend has found a list of keyword seeds, it's time to use the seeds of those keywords to find derived keywords in the form of long tail keywords.
The trick ...
1. Go to http://ubersuggest.org
2. Enter any keywords that according to my friend relate to the topic of your blog.
- Enter keywords. In this case for example " Android "
- Select a language. In this case for example " Indonesian "
- Click Suggest
3. After that will appear a list of keywords related to " Android "
4. Because the keyword list is still two to three words, my friend can click the list of keywords that appear there, later ubersuggest will automatically search the list of other derived keywords.
5. If so, just click " Select All Keywords "
Click " Get "
7. Copy all keywords and save it in your computer in the form of .txt file
Step Three: Analyze the Number of Keyword Searches
The next step is to analyze the search queries in the search engines of the keywords we've got from Ubersuggest.
The easiest thing we can do is to utilize Google AdWords Keyword Planner.
How:
1. Sign in to Google Adwords: Keyword Planner
- Click " Get search volume data and trends "
- Upload a keyword file that you saved earlier
- Click " Get search volume"
2. Click on " Download "
3. Select the .CSV file format and click Download
4. Open the CSV file that has been downloaded after that please can be selected-select which keywords are the best based on the number of searches you want.
Please note that the data displayed from Google Keywords Planner is not 100% accurate. If there is written number of monthly search 1000, then not a guarantee your blog will get 1000 visitors per month if it is in position 1 Google. Can be more and also can be less.
Step Four: Analyze the level of competition
It is no less important of course analyze the level of competition in search engine google sesusai with level of SEO ability that we have. For this one we can do it manually.
Mas, in Google AdWords Keyword Planner there is a level of competition data too, why not use it aja?
The competition level data that exists in Google AdWords Keyword Planner is the advertiser's competition in AdWords rather than competition in Google search engine.
For how to analyze the level of competition you can take advantage of browser extensions such as SEOQuake or MozBar.
Below is a screenshot of sample search results from the keyword " Android Murah "
Now by using a browser extension such as SEOQuake, we can see the PR, Backlink, alexa ranking, etc.. From the web that appears on the SERP or search results pages.
I am confused mas how to determine keywords that the competition is not too difficult, how ya?
You can rate the level of competition based on the number of search results, pagerank, alexa rank, the number of indexes, etc.
Some tips I can give you are:
- Do not select keywords that have the number of search results above one million.
- Do not select keywords that are controlled by otoriatas web-sites, for example: Wikipedia
- Do not select keywords that dikuasi by web-web with pagerank above 5
- Do not select keywords that are dominated by web-web with page authority and domain authority above 50 (use MozBar Extension)
- and so forth
Step Five: Execute Keyword
Of course if my friend has found the right keywords then the next step is to optimize the keyword. How to? Please be read on my post this one .
Cover..
That's how keyword research or keywords most accurate version of Mas Sugeng. Hopefully what I wrote above can provide benefits for all buddies especially who are learning blogging while making money from blogs .
More or less please submit commented. thanks.
